Passage

conversation last night about how human life has been needlessly prolonged by medical intervention. in the scheme of things outside of ours: what happens to a menopausal cow, a toothless lion, a comatose dog. can one dare to think about dying naturally? walk off alone, to a barren plot or behind a wall and die with the kind of purpose and efficiency that cats do. to die naturally seems to have become an impossible act of rebellion and excess.
